About

"Pictures of Karolina Lilpop take us to journey to the world of our own unknown or forgotten imagination. This is multicoloured world that reminds us fairy-tales full of oriental conotations, relations to the culture of Middle East and southern parts of Europe.

Author’s fascination with the culture of Orient is fulfilled with atmosphere of oniric dreams, mood of eastern magic, longing for another, coloured world, because that’s the colour that plays a dominant role in Karolina Lilpop’s paintings. This poetic creation of coloured, floric reality composes a magical and unique climate.

May be these pictures take us to a journey to far, unknown and forgotten fairyland from our childhood and just express longing for care-free children’s fantasy; or may be this children’s world and the world of Orient just filter through each other creating a unique climate for imagination?

This oniric-mythical atmosphere of Karolina Lilpop’s paintings has great predecessors, like overfilled with fantasy visions of Marc Chagall, Bruno Schulz or Paul Klee.

The value of Karolina Lilpop’s pictures consists in creating the mood of fairy tales and dreams, separating us from everyday hurdles, taking to the journey to the South and composing its own, unique oasis of fantasy" (dr Piotr Teodorczuk).
